A Nata is a traditional Japanese bush machete – and in our opinion, there’s no better tool for clearing brush or processing firewood. Constructed with heritage-quality materials, the Barebones Nata Hatchet combines functionality, durability and refinement. The 7” easy-sharpen blade is made from 5mm thick stainless steel with a full-tang construction, making it ideal for all-around outdoor work. With a wide bevel and serious heft, this hatchet makes a great stick chopper for splitting and processing kindling. It’s also ideal for pruning, debarking, and removing limbs. The walnut handle reduces vibration and resists cracking over time. In short, the Nata Hatchet is the perfect tool to add to your outdoor arsenal – ready to be put to work in camp or garden.
Blade - Apply a thin coat of protective oil after each use. Wipe clean of dirt, water, and fingerprints regularly. Use a medium to fine file to straighten out any larger dings or nicks in the blade. The edge can be honed with a medium sharpening disk or stone.
