The Journeyman backpack from Filson is the kind of useful day-to-day rucksack you'll never want to be without – whether you're cycling to work, strolling in the city, hiking in the hills or heading off on an international adventure. But while this is a pack for the everyday, the materials and construction are anything but ordinary. The main body of the pack is built in Filson's famously tough and water-resistant oil-finish tin cloth, with an industrial-strength rugged cotton twill for the padded back panel and base reinforcement. The contoured tin cloth straps are lined with soft moleskin cotton, and the accents – including the strap adjusters, grab handle, tags and toggles – are all made in top-quality veg-tanned bridle leather from historic Pennsylvania tannery, Wickett & Craig. The lined main compartment features a padded slip for a 15" laptop, and the wide zip access is protected from rain and debris by a tin cloth storm flap. For your quick-access essentials there's a gusseted front pocket with corner snaps so you can flatten it down when you don't need it. At 23 litres, the Journeyman is pretty much bang-on for a daypack, and the more you use it, the better that tin cloth shell will look.
